Sounds like you're asking for a mute button during recording more than a pause. Pausing, which I believe you can do now, would halt the recording until you released the pause. Mute would keep recording but record silence instead of whatever noise is coming from your input, such as scratchy white noise from a record album. Sounds like a good idea. It would give you a nice clean separation of tracks that way.

I'd like a pause button that would cut out ALL INPUT so that when we're recording a record, one press of that between songs--or holding it between cuts on a record or cassette--would result in total silence on the recording.
