I don't like the idea that the toolchain link can be removed completely. By the idea of ptxdist (executable documentation) the result should should not depend on external factors. So if there is no link to a toolchain you can't find out by what this stuff is build. So i think it's no good idea. Probably a better idea is to rework the check that it accepts other toolchains better. I have a not yet published tool in the making which get the toolchain information out of that link.
