Hi,

I'm using ptxdist for a iMx27 based board.

The iMx27 VPU provides hardware accelerators for video coding/decoding.

Unfortunatly, with ptxdist, the gstreamer plugin is incomplete :

gst-inspect |grep mfw
mfw_vpuencoder: mfw_vpuencoder: Freescale: Hardware (VPU) Encoder

With Freescale SDK, gst-inspect gives (seen in Freescale documentation):

gst-inspect | grep mfw
mfw_mp4demuxer: mfw_mp4demuxer: freescale-mp4 demuxer plugin
mfw_avidemuxer: mfw_avidemuxer: FSL Avi Demuxer
mfw_vpuencoder: mfw_vpuencoder: Freescale: Hardware (VPU) Encoder
mfw_vpudecoder: mfw_vpudecoder: Freescale: Hardware (VPU) Decoder
mfw_v4lsrc: mfw_v4lsrc: Freescale Video Source plug-in
mfw_v4lsink: mfw_v4lsink: v4l_sink

It seems that ptxdist use : gst-plugins-fsl-vpu-0.1.0.tar.bz2
And Freescale SDK use : gst-mx27-vpu-video-1.2.tar.gz
The freescale SDK can be downloaded for free on their website, you just need to
give your email and filter the spam they send ;-)

Did someone already done this version change in ptxdist ? It it hard to do ?
I'm not really familiar with ptxdist, nor with gstreamer plugins.

Regards

Stephane
