Well when using system V initscripts thats what's inside the rc.S skript, as 
far as i remember? Depends on the used filesystem though. I think this is done 
on purpose to enable the os to do an fsck if nessescary?

I switched to upstart which makes the right thing on start, also you get the 
problem of having a first time upstart boot...
