In the meantime I changed the dependencies to:

> +     select HOST_GETTEXT if BUILDTIME
> +     select HOST_INTLTOOL if BUILDTIME

But it seems it does not work as intended or at least not how I understand it. 
Because the "extract" stage with the running autoreconf fails due to a 
missing 'AM_GNU_GETTEXT' which only is present when the 'HOST_GETTEXT' 
dependency is correctly handled.

Am I wrong with the "if BUILDTIME" dependency for the host tools?

When I remove the "if BUILDTIME" the host's gettext package is built first and 
the build continues successfuly.
