Templates for the Neither Web Site
I think that to enable a group of people to maintain the content of the
web site and also to maintain a consistency of style. We need to create
two templates for the web pages, all pages should be created using it,
accept the members' page, where they can choose to use the template if
they want but don't need to.
The two templates I would see as being basically the same, except for a
couple of differences I'll describe later.
The requirements
Heading - consistent size and colour
Background - consistent colour
Text - consistent size and colour (black)
Links - consistent size and colour (blue was/is the normal colour for
links)
Buttons - "Home" button/link - to return to the Neither homepage
- "Up" button - to move up the web site hierarchy (see my
previous email in this thread)
- "Left" & "Right" button to move side ways through that level
of the hierarchy
- "Email" or "Contact Us" button
- If buttons the graphics all need to be consistent.
Formatting - perhaps use tables to create a consistent place for text
and links.
The differences; one template would be for text, ie documents, the other
for link pages.
-If using tables to create places for links and text, may require
different setups.
-most important difference- the link pages need a meta tag placed in
them so that they aren't kept by proxy servers, when this happens new
pages added to site may take some days for them to become visible to the
rest of the world. the tag is: <meta http-equiv="Expires" content="0">
Would someone like to try to create these templates? (If what I've said
makes sense)
