When I first learned about the Alliance for Democracy on 25 January, I found
its website to be outdated and lacking intelligible continuity. I complained
to them about this and have now been assured that the defects are being
fixed.

Part of (Jerry Polner's) original circular sent to me via an anti-MAI
listserve reads:

"This letter is to tell you about the newly released Alliance for Democracy
Corporate Welfare Application Kit. The Alliance for Democracy is a new
upstart organization dedicated to ending corporate rule -- the domination
of our economy, our government, and our news media by concentrated wealth
acting in their (not our) best interests."

As a believer in coherent structuring for democratic action I am now greatly
heartened by reading about the Alliance's Second Annual Convention (styled
as 1997 but held in Aitchison, Kansas October 30-November 2, 1998).

This material was not on the site at 25 Jan, so I suggest you take a look at
it. It is reminiscent of the Australian Democrats first euphoric convention,
but appears to have laid stronger safeguards against subversion.
