Victoria's state of elitist-anarchy

The latest books to be banned by this diabolical joke we call the the Australian democratic system and "free speech" are those by Raymond Hoser. Of course, like with Murder by Media, the mainstream press have totally ignored the implications. See Hoser's letter in the letter's section. This is what happened.

Victorian Police have raided a number of bookshops and forced them to stop selling two controversial new books that detail previously unreported corruption in the Kennett government.

Angus and Robertson Bookworld, the largest bookseller has faxed all it's outlets telling them to pull all their books from the shelves and not to sell them. Until then, sales of the books titled "Victoria Police Corruption" and "Victoria Police Corruption - 2" were so high that many outlets struggled to keep up with demand.

It is believed that the release of both books on August 2 was one of the triggers that made Kennett rush to the polls last week - before the contents of the two books became widely known. The electoral damage to the Kennett side from wide circulation of the books would have been huge. Both books had several hundred pages detailing previously unreported corruption involving Jeff Kennett and his government.

The censorship of political corruption books just days after the announcement of a State election is unheard of in Australian history. Free Speech activists have branded the actions of the State government as unconstitutional and illegal in every way.

Kotabi publishing's lawyer Alex Tees, says that the company intends taking actions against any and all parties responsible for the illegal censorship of the two books. However he notes that the legal actions could take years and would do nothing to stop the immediate effects of the banning of the books. Labor party insiders have said that the banning of the books will achieve what the Kennett government seeks, and that is immediate re-election and with a substantial majority.

Tees also said, 'The actions of the Victoria Police and State Government in banning the book are totally reckless and irresponsible. They have no legal backing. They have no writs, no injunctions, no nothing'. Tees also said 'At this late stage, they'd have Buckley's chance of getting any injunctions to stop sales due to the fact that they have been in possession of the books for some time and chose not to dispute the books contents when offered the opportunity.'

On the cover of the first book is written 'The book that the Victoria Police don't want you to read'. The illegal banning of the book by Police confirms what the cover says. David Summers of Exposure Magazine said 'The books contents make the Wood Royal Commission look like a Sunday picnic. I can see why the Police want to cover it up.'

Author Raymond Hoser is not unused to having his books banned. In 1993, the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service made illegal treats and faxed all major book retailers and told them not to sell any of his book Smuggled - The Underground Trade in Australia's Wildlife. Following intense media publicity, the then NSW Environment Minister Chris Hartcher was forced to direct his department to withdraw all threats and allow the book's sales to proceed. That book and a sequel, Smuggled-2 both became best-sellers.

Author Raymond Hoser and Kotabi Lawyer, Alex Tees are happy to do interviews for TV, radio and newspapers but have been ignored.
