Dear Fellow Australians,
Why are the Americans not going to the aid of East Timor?
The American Declaration of Independence begins: "We hold these truths to
be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by
their Creator with certain inalienable Rights, that among these are Life,
Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness."
The American President and the American Congress know that the people of
East Timor, who because they voted for Independence, are being
slaughtered by the Indonesian Army.
For there to be no swift and immediate response on America's part to go to
East Timor is more than simple cowardice. The Spirit of America is dead.
