Romanian hackers prove taxing problem
BUCHAREST, Nov 2 (AFP) - Computer hackers modified the Romanian finance
ministry's web site to announce a new tax on stupidity, among other
activities, police said Tuesday.
The internet raiders proposed a stupidity tax "directly proportional to a
person's job," therefore suggesting that a dustman would pay about 100,000
lei (six dollars) while a government minister or the president would have to
pay tens of thousands of dollars for doing something unintelligent.

The false web page also proposed that delinquants should be exempted from
paying taxes, while the finance ministry itself should be abandoned, police
said.

A spokesman said police can do nothing even if they catch the culprits,
since Romania has no legislation dealing with such cases.
