With reference to the use of Bcc (Blind Carbon Copy) in e-mail.

I receive many e-mails each day and a lot of them are broadcast with huge lists of e-mail addresses in the body of the e-mail. This, I feel, is an issue concerning privacy. I really do not want my e-mail address sent all over the world and I don't think others would either without their permission. It also entails scrolling through sometimes a hundred e-mail addresses to get to the message.

It is much easier to create a dummy e-mail address, such as [EMAIL PROTECTED] , and send all your broadcasts to that address in the To: window and then put all your e-mail addresses that you wish to receive your message in the Bcc: window.

This allows you to send out a message to a number of people without everyone getting the list of addresses.

You can also send via the Cc: (Carbon copy), with the dummy address in the To: window, but everyone who receives your message knows who else got it.

Whenever you send a message via Bcc: with your dummy address in the To: window, the dummy address will bounce back as undeliverable whilst the Cc: & Bcc: addresses are delivered.

To create the Bcc: window if it is not visible, just go to a new message, click on To: and when the address window opens click on your chosen address and click on Bcc:  and this will put your address/es in the Bcc: window and create it when you go back to the new e-mail.

Cheers,
