Banning of E-mail by
Parliament
In August I was banned by the
Queensland State Parliament e-mail server from sending e-mails to State
Parliamentarians.
After numerous emails from
supporters to the State Parliamentarians and a speech in Parliament by
Dorothy Pratt MLA the ban was lifted on the 27th September.
I am told that Parliament may
have committed offences under the Federal Telecommunications Act and
that I should contact the Federal Police about my being banned. I won't be doing
this. A precedent against interference with e-mails was set. I won. I will let
that sleeping dog lie.
Cancellation of
Insurance
On 25 September an insurance company cancelled my
car insurance because of my weapons offences. What relevance did these offences
have to my driving a car???
After numerous emails from
supporters and also from Dorothy Pratt MLA and Jeff Knuth MLA of the
Queensland Parliament the Insurance Company reviewed their decision and RENEWED
my insurance.
Prosecution for unlicenced weapon-- a
STOCK
On 5th October I attended
Kingaroy Court for my unlicenced possession of the stock of a rifle. The matter
was adjourned for hearing to 14 December 2000. The Magistrate released me "at
large"- no bail or reporting conditions were set.
If you don't fight you
LOSE.
Society is attempting to enforce
their will using the hard option of the Courts and the soft option of
commercial disadvantage. Insurance is one of their weapons. No doubt banking and
employment will be others. If we allow it gun owners will eventually be
treated as pariahs.
Many of those who assisted me
are people of some influence politically and economically. The people who
support gun prohibitionism are not all powerful yet. We can apply pressure -
Politicians need to get re-elected. Businesses can be subjected to commercial
pressure from customers.
We can win if we fight EVERY
battle that is presented to us. Never give the gun prohibitionists a
victory.
Because of the support of many I have won 2 battles
out of 3. Thank you all for your quick retaliation against those who tried to
oppress me. You have made me a winner. I hope this example will assist making us
all winners against the Gun Prohibitionists.
