Hello!

I think the current behavior makes sense. The rdf document uri is the .rdf one. The persistent html document uri us the .html one. The slash uri is the uri of a document about the thing, and we content negotiate at that uri. We are investigating ading a content location http header to refer back to the persistent document uri for a given representation.

Cheers,
y

Yes, I agree.

I think we will probably change the document URI to ''.

Hi Nick,

I have just had a chance to have a look at the /programmes RDF, and yay, great
stuff !

I have noticed some oddness w.r.t. the URIs you use, and I thought I would
point them out.

So,

when performing "rapper http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00kmgqy";

All of your subject URIs for the triples describing the RDF document end with
.rdf (e.g. <http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00kmgqy.rdf> dc:created
"2009-05...." .)

But given that you are conneg'ing on this URI
<http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00kmgqy>, I wonder whether the Subject URI for your document should be <http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/ b00kmgqy> (sans
.rdf).

When I curl the URI, I get back a 200, which makes me think that if get an RDF document back that the triples to do with the Document itself have the same
URI as URI being conneg'ing.

curl -I -H "Accept: application/rdf+xml"
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00kmgqy

For example :

"If I was some sort of bot, I would ask BBC for the rdf+xml for the URI
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00kmgqy.

If I got some RDF back, I would do a query to find the primaryTopic of the RDF
document, by doing something like :

select ?primaryTopic where { graph <http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00kmgqy > { <http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00kmgqy> foaf:primaryTopic ? primaryTopic }
}

And, as it stands I wouldn't get anything back for the graph URI and the
Subject URI of the foaf:primaryTopic dont match. "

I guess you could do a number of things here (not exhaustive in any sense of
the word):

1. Use "" for your Document URI in your RDF/XML

2. When connneg'ing use the appropriate 30X (30 something, can't recall of the top of my head), which would redirect the client to the appropriate .rdf URI, so that the baseURI of the RDF document, matches the Subject URIs in the RDF/XML. If this were to be your favoured approach, it would be nice to see some sort of "foaf:IsPrimaryTopicOf" type triple which pointed back to the
HTML page, something like :

<http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006z6tc.rdf#programme>
foaf:IsPrimaryTopicOf <http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006z6tc> .

where the object URI above is the URI for the HTML document on / programmes.

Hope all is well and I hope this helps/makes sense,

Mischa
