technologies. Focus is on the increased automatisation of content and service 
delivery. STI Innsbruck is currently seeking candidates for the following 
position:

 

 

PhD student

 

 

We are searching for new staff to help us in projects such as:

 

E-Freight facilitates the use of different transport modes on their own and in 
combination, to obtain an optimal and sustainable utilisation of European 
freight transport resources using semantic technologies.

Envision provides an ENVIronmental Services Infrastructure with Ontologies that 
support users in the process of discovery and adaptive chaining and composition 
of environmental services.

MSEE: The first Grand Challenge for MSEE project is to make SSME (Service 
Science Management and Engineering) evolve towards Manufacturing Systems and 
Factories of the Future. 

PeerAssist: The main scope of this project is the conceptualization, design, 
implementation and demonstration of a flexible Peer-to-Peer (P2P) platform, 
which will allow people to build virtual communities dynamically based on 
interests and needs they share.

PlanetData: The main aim of PlanetData is to establish an interdisciplinary, 
sustainable European community of researchers, helping organizations to expose 
their data on the Web in a useful way.

RENDER: The RENDER project addresses the challenges arising when analyzing the 
dynamics of online information. RENDER will provide a comprehensive conceptual 
framework and technological infrastructure for enabling, supporting, managing 
and exploiting information diversity in Web-based environments.

SUPPORT aims to raise the current level of port security by integrating legacy 
port systems with new surveillance and information management systems using 
semantic technology.

 

 

Furthermore our researchers continuously acquire new projects.

We expect

 

A strong background in Computer Science or related disciplines

 

The Willingness to work in an international environment and combine formal 
scientific work with application-oriented research in order to solve real-world 
problems

 

The ability to take part in large-scale international research projects

 

Research interest and expertise in at least one of the following: Formal 
languages and reasoning (description logics, logic programming), ontology 
languages, Semantic Web services, business aspects of semantic systems
