The real value of the GKG may be in what gets deleted instead of
what gets added.

I get to the same thought from the other direction - that "discovering" ID 
counts is of dubious analytical value.  It's better to think in terms of 
communities, ecosystems and stewardship (or superintendency) for the 
identifiers one level up.  Makes people uncomfortable with (broader vs. "more 
vague") though.
