Getting consensus on how to address Issue-116 is blocking the advancement of the Widget Interface spec to Proposed Recommendation.

During the July 8 widget call, we continued our discussion of this issue (see minutes at [1]) and did not reach consensus on a solution. Consequently, I agreed to ask for feedback, where the three obvious options are:

1. Get consensus on security considerations text (as originally agreed)

2. Remove the openURL method from the spec; proposed by Marcos and supported by at least Scott Wilson:

3. Move this method to a separate spec (but do not expand the scope beyond what is defined in the CR)

If you have any comments on this issue, e.g. support an option above or propose some other solution, please send them by July 28 at the latest. If clear consensus via the mail list cannot be achieved, we plan to agree on a resolution during the July 29 widgets call.
