The comment period for the August 9 LCWD of The WebSocket API [LCWD]
ended on August 30. During that time, two bugs were submitted against
the LCWD ([18623] and [18509]). Both of these bugs requested
non-normative changes and fixes for both of these bugs are included in
the version of the spec I created as a Draft CR [CR-Draft].
As such, this is a Call for Consensus to publish a Candidate
Recommendation of WebSocket API using [CR-Draft] as the basis (see
[Diff] for a difference between [LCWD] and [CR-Draft]).
As noted in the CfC to publish the LCWD [CfC-LCWD], bugs [15209],
[15210], and [17264] remain open (and are not addressed in this version
of the spec).
This CfC satisfies: a) the group's requirement to "record the group's
decision to request advancement" to CR; and b) "General Requirements for
Advancement on the Recommendation Track" as defined in the Process
Document
<http://www.w3.org/2005/10/Process-20051014/tr.html#transition-reqs>.
Positive response to this CfC is preferred and encouraged and silence
will be considered as agreeing with the proposal. The deadline for
comments is September 7 and all comments should be sent to
public-webapps at w3.org.
Thanks, AB
