Having multiple sub-domains is more complex than creating a directory for a developer. Also, sometimes, it is not possible, depending on your hosting solution. A very simple example are GH Pages which live in the same origin for a given user. That means that with a one-app-per-origin rule, you would only be able to install one app from a given developer if his/her apps are hosted on GitHub. -- Mounir
