No matter what procedure we choose for establishing new SCWG Subcommittees, we will need a formal scope for each Subcommittee. This is a first draft of such a scope for the Certificate Policy Subcommittee (sometimes called the Policy Review Working Group).
Our website says the existing Policy Review WG was created by a Ballot - but I can't find any ballot (can anyone else find a Ballot?). https://cabforum.org/current-work/cp-working-group All our website says about the Certificate Policy Working Group is this: The CA/Browser Forum has chartered a Certificate Policy Working Group to harmonize its guidelines and requirements with frameworks used by other organizations. The working group will meet by phone and prior to CA/Browser Forum face-to-face meetings. I have not tried to turn this statement into a Subcommittee ballot - Dimitris and Ben, do you want to try? You could use the following template (and choose the Subcommittee NAME you want): The Server Certificate Working Group formally establishes the XXXXXXXX Subcommittee as an official Subcommittee of the SCWG. Scope: The XXXXXX Subcommittee will [insert scope]. Out of Scope: XXX Deliverables: XXX [we don't have Deliverables for the Validation Subcommittee] Within the scope of the SCWG Charter: Yes End Date: ??? We can try to finalize on our SCWG teleconference on July 26.
