Do we want a flat line here? I kinda liked the tapered effect i was
getting in firefox. (even though it does not really add anything to it)
FWIW, I really don't like the taper, but it's not a deal-breaker for me
and I admit that this is nothing but personal preference that I can't
pass off as better or worse in any objective sense :)
