Morning Raphael,

norman@hubble ~/SourceCode/AssemblyLanguage/QPTR Manual/en-US $ dblatex --output=Norman.dblatex.pdf --output-dir=./ --pdf --tmpdir=./tempstuff --debug -v QPTRManual.xml
dblatex version 0.3.2-2

XSLT stylesheets DocBook - LaTeX 2e (0.3.2-2)
===================================================
Invalid table entry row=6/column=1 (@colend)
/home/norman/SourceCode/AssemblyLanguage/QPTR Manual/en-US/tempstuff not removed

A possible reason for transformation failure is invalid DocBook
(as reported by xmllint)

Error: xsltproc failed

Looks like it's xmllint that's complaining.

> Obviously you can't reuse CSS of the brand with dblatex. But brands
can be extended to include a LaTeX stylesheet that will be given
to dblatex (and can also contain custom XSL to tweak the default LaTeX
output). I've done both of this for my Debian Handbook:

$ git clone git://anonscm.debian.org/debian-handbook/debian-handbook.git

Have a look at the files build/dblatex/* and build/build-pdf to see how
I call dblatex.

Funnily enough, I have that very book on my desktop on my Raspberry Pi and it's excellent. I was wondering where I knew your name from!

I've got the source code and I'll take a good look when I've a little more time. My real work is getting in the way of my playtime!

I've also got a few dblatex docs to get through as well.

And with LaTeX you have an output of sufficient quality to make a real
book (the Debian Handbook is sold via lulu.com, a print on demand service).
Yes indeed. Which makes me wonder why we don;t just cut straight to the good quality PDF from Publican anyway. I'd have thought that good documentation needs to be of a decent enough quality to print.

Thanks again.

Cheers,
Norm.
