Morning Alan,
I've been using subversive to version control my docs. It's true that branches
are not really required, but that's not a problem.
I kept my report on a small usb thumb drive (Crucial 256mb!) so that I could
carry it around. Obviously svn was required wherever I was working.
That worked fine for me.
