   Yes, I am using php.  Thank you for that suggestions.  When I tried
that, I don't appear to be getting any valid data.

When I add the line:

  error_log(print_r($GLOBALS['HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA']));


I only see the string "1" printed in the logs.

Is this a problem because the feed doesn't have a hub link in it?
Does the reference server support notifications for arbitrary rss
feeds?
