Hey Alexis, Thanks at the moment we are managing subscriptions using REST+oAuth because there is a lot of information which can be specified beyond what a topic url would provide. See http://developerwiki.myspace.com/index.php?title=Stream_Subscription_API
But the team is almost done adding support for full end to end PSHB by doing discovery from a myspace profile to the atom feed to the hub and the traditional flow for creating a subscription passing a topic url. I need to review exactly where the mailing group ended on having a topic url for the firehose to see if we can add that as well.
