Agreed; that said, feed generation can be expensive in itself. I'd
like to imagine a world where hubs can generate feeds for polling
clients, but publishers don't even need to think about generating
feeds if they don't want to. While it's true that the publisher
doesn't necessarily have the *feed* content at ping-time, it's also
true that they definitely have the *entry* content at ping-time.
