We have just implemented a subscriber for http://SpokenWord.org. We
currently read 8,259 podcast feeds. 1,156 of them use Pubsubhubbub, of
which 1,131 use pubsubhubbub.appspot.com for their hub.
We're getting excessive/problematic notifications for about a half-
dozen of the feeds from pubsubhubbub.appspot.com. Specifically (1)
some feeds/topics are sending us notifications every few minutes, (2)
some feeds/topics are sending us incorrectly large numbers of items
(ie, 200 or more), (3) some feeds/topics send us multiple
notifications in rapid succession (eg, three notifications, each with
different content), and (4) pubsubhubbub.appspot.com isn't honoring
some of our unsubscribe requests.
Is anyone associated with pubsubhubbub.appspot.com interested in
understanding/debugging these problems? Or are these problems entirely
the fault of the publishers?
