If Google subscribes to your feeds, it will indeed help you get indexed
faster. More precisely, it'll reduce the latency of discovery of new
content to a few seconds.

But that's only if Google finds your feed first and decides to subscribe to
it. If you use Google's Hub as the designated hub for your feeds, you don't
need to worry about this as it'll happen automatically.
