Until then, you can delete the repo ( do not orthan any files) and recreate it with same config, a sync will be a "full" one without any rpm download as they are already local.
I just did that over the weekend for RHEL 5,6 and 7 OS repos (I changed how many old versions to keep and was ignoring my sync requests).
