Hi there,

I have a USB headset that reports itself as

Bus 004 Device 003: ID 0d8c:010f C-Media Electronics, Inc. CM108 Audio
Controller

Volume control using pulseaudio is pretty bad on this device, in that "maxed
out volume" is loud enough to damage the headphones, and at the low end, the
bottom 20% of the volume slider produce silence, and a slight nudge "up" from
that silence is already slightly louder than I would like. This might well be
the hardware's fault, but it's still annoying, especially given that this chip
seems fairly common. (I also bought another piece of USB audio hardware that
has it.)

Thanks,
Andreas
