With regards to the duration of a busy loop, my observation is that it lasts tens of seconds or a couple of minutes. I have never witnessed it "unlock" iteself from that state unless I killed it or LimitRTTIME was exceeded which I had set to tens of seconds or a couple of minutes to help me with debugging. I don't know how I can help you understand why the busy loop happens if you say it is not only because of the rounding error. By all means fix that other cause, but I still rounding error should still be fixed.
