But in comment #29 you say that the system reacts in a different way depending
on whether you plug in headphones or headsets. And that is what we are trying
to verify here. But now you say they are reacting the same?

The converter numbers are initialized on first playback/record. If they are
zero, it probably means you have not had a stream running to/from the codec
since the sound driver was last initialized (which usually happens on boot
only, I think). They are unrelated to jack detection.
