What I did: 1. Clicked twice on a gnome volume slider (top right screen corner) to hear 'pop' sound twice, to ensure sound is working. 2. Plugged in headphones. 3. Clicked twice again on the gnome volume slider, but did not hear any sound. 4. Bumped "Speaker+LO" volume bar to 100% in alsamixer. 5.
