#510: Sound only works after "pulseaudio -k" ---------------------------+------------------------------------------------ Reporter: drabbit | Owner: lennart Type: defect | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: Component: module-alsa-* | Severity: normal Keywords: | ---------------------------+------------------------------------------------ Hi!
I'm using a E-MU 0404 USB card which *kind of* works in ALSA. I've been able to use the card before by running PulseAudio which, I believe, resamples sound to a sample rate the card (or it's limited ALSA driver) can handle. However, I've encountered a problem which I think is related to newer versions of PulseAudio. To begin with, using PulseAudio 0.9.14 on Arch Linux and Alsa 1.0.19, without "tsched=0" after "load-module module-hal-dectect" in default.pa, sound doesn't work at all. After adding this, PulseAudio seems to add "module-alsa-sink" correctly, but I don't get any sound (testing using sound preferences in Gnome). After running "pulseaudio -k" as a normal user, sound works for a few tries, then stops working again. I tried "pulseaudio -k" followed by "pulseaudio -vv" and then tried the "Test" button in sound preferences a few times. Sound worked, but I got this error: "E: module-alsa-sink.c: ALSA woke us up to write new data to the device, but there was actually nothing to write! Most likely this is an ALSA driver bug. Please report this issue to the PulseAudio developers." If you need more information, please tell me. -- Ticket URL: <http://pulseaudio.org/ticket/510> PulseAudio <http://pulseaudio.org/> The PulseAudio Sound Server _______________________________________________ pulseaudio-tickets mailing list pulseaudio-tickets@mail.0pointer.de https://tango.0pointer.de/mailman/listinfo/pulseaudio-tickets
