Yes, sorry, it was a local problem. More in detail: there was an entry in
/etc/group that was shadowing the LDAP/NFS entry, so pulseaudio was
confused becaused it thought it couldn't chown the directory. I removed
the wrong entry from /etc/group and everything works. Sorry for the noise!
