While I can't remember off hand how hard this would be to achieve (I think
"not very") I also think this would be something that could confuse the
user pretty easily... Only those with a very accurate idea of how
pulseaudio works and saves volumes will appreciate the ability to override
this option. Additionally, people who don't know about it and accidentally
trigger this functionality may get confused.
Overall I'm not sure I like this suggestion (but I do like the fact you
are suggesting things!) :) I'm somewhat undecided to be honest :s
