Sounds like a mislabelling of the low-level ALSA mixer controls. If
enabling the "Headphone" control actually disables it then the name must
be wrong. Please file a bug against your driver describe exactly how the
low-level mixer controls don't do what their name suggests and include the
output of alsa-info.sh --no-upload there.
