#743: Sound disappears when some app tries to access alsa

I've managed to partly workaround this issue by enabling module suspend-
idle and setting the timeout to 1 s. Now when sound disappears i can stop
the stream, wait 1s and restart it and then sound starts to work.
Any ideas what might be causing this?
