#807: PulseAudio clocks the CPU up to maximum speed on AMD K8 Turion ------------------------------------------+--------------------------------- Reporter: psihozefir | Owner: lennart Type: defect | Status: new Milestone: | Component: daemon Keywords: CPU frequency, drain battery | ------------------------------------------+--------------------------------- While the CPU usage remains low (7%), the running freqency increases to 2 GHz while PulseAudio is running (draining the battery of my laptop). killall pulseaudio restores the CPU freqency to its lowest.
I attached some data about pa clients (pacmd ls) and system (lspci, lsmod and emerge --info). I'm running Gentoo Linux 10.0 with KDE-4.4.2. I first noticed this problem a year ago, but I didn't think it's a bug up until now. Let me know if I can help further with this bug. Also, I have a desktop computer that gives my laptop access to its audio system by means of pa. The high CPU freqency can be observed both when I'm connected and disconnected from my home network and when using the default configuration (that is shipped with Gentoo), without enabling aditional modules. -- Ticket URL: <http://pulseaudio.org/ticket/807> PulseAudio <http://pulseaudio.org/> The PulseAudio Sound Server _______________________________________________ pulseaudio-tickets mailing list pulseaudio-tickets@mail.0pointer.de https://tango.0pointer.de/mailman/listinfo/pulseaudio-tickets
