#832: PulseAudio Crashes (probably ALSA bug) --------------------------+------------------------------------------------- Reporter: robert42539 | Owner: lennart Type: defect | Status: new Milestone: | Component: daemon Resolution: | Keywords: --------------------------+-------------------------------------------------
Comment(by robert42539): Well, after attempting to play audio with ALSA only, the audio crashed again... It took it much longer and the audio had less problems than would with pulseaudio, but when it did crash both online flash video (google chrome/flash player 10 amd64) and an mp3 file (vlc with debug level 2) totally stopped working. Google Chrome could make sounds while adding new tabs, even while vlc was still complaining: ...first part shown only once... alsa error: cannot recover from buffer underrun alsa error: ALSA error: Input/output error main warning: audio drift is too big (692999), dropping buffer ...second part repeats over and over... main debug: audio output is starving (460851), playing silence alsa error: cannot write: Input/output error main debug: audio output is starving (39002), playing silence alsa error: cannot write: Input/output error ...kept repeating until stop button pressed... So, looks like ALSA bug, but still need to double check flash isn't sending audio to pulseaudio... -- Ticket URL: <http://pulseaudio.org/ticket/832#comment:1> PulseAudio <http://pulseaudio.org/> The PulseAudio Sound Server _______________________________________________ pulseaudio-tickets mailing list pulseaudio-tickets@mail.0pointer.de https://tango.0pointer.de/mailman/listinfo/pulseaudio-tickets
