* status: closed => reopened * resolution: invalid => Comment: Hello, When I issue the ls command you've provided, I get: ls: cannot access /usr/lib64/alsa-lib/libasound_module_pcm_pulse.so: No such file or directory When I issue this command: ls -l /usr/lib64/alsa-lib I get: -rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 12736 Jan 14 2010 libasound_module_pcm_jack.so drwxr-xr-x. 2 root root 4096 May 12 2010 smixer I was trying to isolate the problem between PulseAudio and ALSA, and I made changes to my .asoundrc file. The file contains: *** pcm.pulse { type pulse } ctl.pulse { type pulse } *** Please let me know what the next steps are: 1. How I can "restore" PulseAudio. 2. The best method (rpm/yum/other) to obtain pavucontrol.
