Issue #1561 has been reported by tstoop.

Bug #1561: puppet requires a unique service_description for a nagios_service
http://reductivelabs.com/redmine/issues/show/1561
Author: tstoop
Status: Unreviewed
Priority: Normal
Assigned to:
Category: nagios
Target version:
Complexity: Unknown
Affected version: 0.24.5
Keywords:
However, as long as a service_description is unique to a host, Nagios does not
require the service_description to be unique over all hosts.
Example:
<pre>
nagios_service {
"test1":
ensure => present,
target => "/tmp/puppettest",
host_name => "myhostA",
service_description => "My Important Service",
check_command => "check_ok",
use => "generic_service";
"test2":
ensure => present,
target => "/tmp/puppettest",
host_name => "myhostB",
service_description => "My Important Service",
check_command => "check_ok",
use => "generic_service";
}
</pre>
You need a little bit of scaffolding to have Nagios actually test the code, but
puppet refuses to create this in the first place. It is a correct Nagios
service definition, though.
Using puppet 0.24.5 on Debian Etch.
