Issue #1582 has been updated by jamtur01. Category set to library Status changed from Unreviewed to Ready for Checkin Assigned to set to luke Target version set to 1.5.3
Pushed in commit:"20650acb784a9463b6b233f7f437af24cc8af422" in branch master. ---------------------------------------- Bug #1582: [PATCH] Fix MAC address reporting for Linux bonding slave interfaces http://projects.reductivelabs.com/issues/show/1582 Author: seanmil Status: Ready for Checkin Priority: Normal Assigned to: luke Category: library Target version: 1.5.3 Complexity: Medium Keywords: linux bonding macaddress On Linux, Ethernet interfaces which are slaved to a bonding device assume the MAC address of the bond device (which usually takes its MAC address from the first slave). As a result, when these interfaces are participating in a bond device facter reports the bonding MAC address, not the real MAC address for the device. The attached patch is a little hackish, but works. It determines if the OS is Linux and if the interface is a slave to a bond device. If so, it looks up that bond device in /proc/net/bonding/BONDDEV and pulls the real hardware MAC address out (that is the only place on the system I am aware of that still returns it while the bonding device is up). ---------------------------------------- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
