Issue #2046 has been updated by luke. Status changed from Accepted to Rejected
This is expected behaviour, like any other parameter on a resource. If you refile this as a feature request, note that it's similar to the existing 'replace' parameter in files, where you can choose not to replace files that already exist. ---------------------------------------- Bug #2046: Puppet user type resets password on every run http://projects.reductivelabs.com/issues/2046 Author: Djelibeybi Status: Rejected Priority: Normal Assigned to: Category: user Target version: 0.24.8 Complexity: Unknown Affected version: 0.24.7 Keywords: If you set a password parameter in the user type, Puppet will reset the password back on every run. Not sure if this is intended behavior or not. I was hoping to set an initial password when the user is created, but then have Puppet ignore the password from then on. Tested on Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 (which is binary equivalent to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and CentOS 5). ---------------------------------------- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
