Issue #2546 has been updated by Luke Kanies. Status changed from Needs design decision to Accepted Assigned to deleted (Luke Kanies)
---------------------------------------- Feature #2546: Autorequire an exec resource with creates attribute http://projects.reductivelabs.com/issues/2546 Author: Alan Harder Status: Accepted Priority: Normal Assigned to: Category: plumbing Target version: Complexity: Unknown Affected version: 0.24.8 Keywords: It would be nice if anywhere something might autorequire File[x] it would also look for and autorequire Exec[..] that has "creates => x" in its attributes. For example: <pre> exec { 'run_my_script': command => '/tmp/my_script.sh', creates => '/my/path/here' } file { '/my/path/here/some.file': source => ... } </pre> With 0.24.8 it seems an explicit require=>Exec[run_my_script] is needed on the file resource to ensure the proper order. Either updating the autorequire system to look for Exec+creates, or making the exec resource implicitly create a file resource that the existing autorequire system will find, will make the creates attribute even more useful. -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
