Issue #2678 has been updated by Luke Kanies. Status changed from Needs more information to Rejected
I can essentially guarantee you that your puppetmasterd executable was not replaced. The current executable only has 66 lines, and there is definitely no call to Puppet.newservice in it. So it seems that you have a packaging problem. ---------------------------------------- Bug #2678: Puppetmaster 0.25 on ubuntu hardy will not start http://projects.reductivelabs.com/issues/2678 Author: Bruno Leon Status: Rejected Priority: Normal Assigned to: Category: installation Target version: Affected version: 0.25.0 Keywords: newservice NoMethodError Branch: I repackaged the version 0.25 for ubuntu, using the source package of the standard version which is 0.24.3 on hardy I think. The packaging went fine and I can install it. However, puppetmasterd is unable to start, and the error is
@/usr/sbin/puppetmasterd:274: undefined method `newservice' for Puppet:Module (NoMethodError)@
Is there any new ruby dependency regarding the 0.25 version ?
