Issue #3091 has been updated by Markus Roberts. Status changed from Unreviewed to Needs more information Assigned to set to Paul Tötterman
Could you provide a concrete (albeit simplified) example with code snippets? ---------------------------------------- Bug #3091: Node and class name collision leads to confusion http://projects.reductivelabs.com/issues/3091 Author: Paul Tötterman Status: Needs more information Priority: Normal Assigned to: Paul Tötterman Category: language Target version: Affected version: 0.25.1 Keywords: node class language Branch: I had a node with quite lot of specific changes, so when I started needing files etc. I made it into a module with a class that was named the same as the nodes short hostname. Then I added stuff to the class that was never in the node and started wondering why Puppet never applied those changes. When I changed the node definition to match the fqdn, it started working. So is this a bug? Or should documentation be better? Or should there be an error while compiling the catalogue? -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
