this is, hmm, pretty ugly to abuse recurse like that. recurse has basically a
totally different meaning. Anyway, what do you do if you set this file resource
to absent? As noted in different parts of the discussion, the behavior becomes
like that very inconsistent.

but get erros that the parent diretories are not available.
