I am mainly interested in keeping this open to lear about use-cases where hash-capture of varargs is thought to be the solution. The want for this solution may hide a bona fide case that should be supported (but a different way). One case I can think of are the provider specific parameters that are wanted for types, they could be dealt with the same way. Most other use cases are covered by what Julien Pivotto suggests, just use a Hash or Struct type. Note though that a capture of hash parameters does define what those parameters are. Either by static explicit keys, or by using a pattern. It is just as declarative to say that you accept as many parameters as you like on the form "host<digits>" as it is to declare that there is a single "hosts" Hash parameter where you can map names on the form "host<digits>" to values. The benefit you get with the hash capture is that users do not have to wrap the optional name=>values to a hash. Except from that it works just like a typed Hash. I.e. I see no harm in allowing this as it is not worse than creating a defied resource type today and having a completely open ended Hash in one parameter, and it is on par with using a fully typed hash as a parameter (and then offering the convenience to not having to wrap the declaration into a hash).
