Issue #4554 has been reported by Nigel Kersten. ---------------------------------------- Feature #4554: Support for caching fact values in Fact definitions. http://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/4554
Author: Nigel Kersten Status: Unreviewed Priority: Normal Assigned to: Category: Target version: Keywords: Branch: Some facts are expensive to compute, and change infrequently. We should be able to cache these. I'm not really fussed about the syntax, but I think we should support an explicit cache time in seconds as well as some sugar to specify that the fact should be cached once-per-reboot, as a reasonable subset of facts won't change all that regularly. Maybe the ability to use a custom method to determine whether the cached value should be used would also be useful? -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
