Issue #4538 has been updated by Luke Kanies. Status changed from Needs design decision to Accepted Assignee deleted (Luke Kanies)
I agree this is a good idea to fix, but I think it's a pretty large change. The Nagios support has gotten a bit calcified because it's gotten pretty hard to maintain, and I'm not sure how easily we can shoehorn this in. Note that my goal is to turn the Nagios support into a module rather than keeping it in core, although I don't have a timeline for that. ---------------------------------------- Bug #4538: Nagios resources do not allow use of groups in place of entities http://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/4538 Author: martin krafft Status: Accepted Priority: Normal Assignee: Category: nagios Target version: Affected version: 0.25.5 Keywords: Branch: When defining e.g. a hostextinfo resource, Nagios allows one instead of "host_name" to specify "hostgroup_name" in the definition. This is a great time saver. Unfortunately, the Naginator/Puppet resources do not allow this, as they insist on using the namevar as "host_name". The same applies to places where servicegroup and contactgroup could be used instead of service and contact. -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
